Joseph has graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and has completed the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University. He is admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Courts of South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory as well as the High Court of Australia.
Upon graduation, Joseph commenced practise at an Adelaide commercial law firm, focusing predominantly upon commercial litigation and corporate insolvency. Joseph acted for clients in a number of complex matters in varying jurisdictions including the High Court, the Federal Court and the Australian Football League Commission.
Joseph was then appointed as the Associate to the Honourable Justice David of the Supreme Court of South Australia, where he worked closely with Justice David on a number of high profile criminal trials and appeals. This experience provided Joseph with an excellent working knowledge of practice and procedure in South Australia’s criminal Courts.
After the completion of his Associateship, Joseph commenced working with Ms Rachael Shaw at a large Adelaide law firm, specialising in criminal, traffic, disciplinary and defamation law. Joseph and Rachael worked closely together on a wide range of matters. They have successfully represented clients charged with summary offences such as drink/drug driving, disorderly behaviour and resist arrest to major indictable offences such as trafficking in a controlled drug, abuse of public office, rape and murder.
Joseph draws on his breadth of experience to provide his clients with pragmatic and effective advice and representation.
Prior to commencing practise in law, Joseph undertook a year’s service with the Royal Australian Navy.
